ED. #2: Everywhere, everyday, all at once
Welcome to Marketing Minute!
Each Saturday morning, we’ll deliver bite-sized marketing insights designed to help you elevate your business.
I can make you 365 pieces of content to post on every major social media platform everyday for the next year and it only takes $100 and 1 hour.
Sound like horse****?
That’s because it is.
Yet, it is what so many self-titled social media gurus are selling.
Doing something like this is
(a) not possible or
(b) beneficial even if it was possible.
The truth is that you don’t want to be on every social media platform all the time.
Social media marketing is about getting in front of your target audience over and over again. It is about making repeat appearances in front of (hopefully) the right person.
If you sell heavy-duty equipment to grading companies do you really think you need to be on TikTok or Snapchat?
No! You need to be on Facebook.
Placement matters and most importantly trying to be on every platform everyday is easily a full time job.
Action item: Consider where your target audience is and start there.
What is their age bracket?
Are your customers predominantly male or female?
Do they prioritize form or function?
All of this will help inform you on what platforms you need to be active on.
